3 Ways to Find Comfort in the Psalms : CHANNETTA WILLIAMS
Sharing is Caring

Are you feeling anxious, afraid, burdened, stressed, saddened, or in deep despair?

You are not alone. God loves you. Seek the Lord and find rest in Him.

I have learned to turn to God and trust in His promises during these stressful, sinful times.

When the enemy bombards my mind with the cares of this world, I cast my cares upon the Lord and I  cry out to Him, the only One who can save me and grant me peace in the midst of the storm.

The Book of Psalms is a collection of 150 songs that expresses the full range of the human experience.

The psalms were set to the accompaniment of music and were used by the Jewish people in worship.

It’s 150 songs cover the creation, patriarchal, theocratic, monarchial, exile, and post-exilic periods.

Psalms include diverse topics such as peace, war, worship, judgment, Messianic prophecy, praise, and lament.

The psalmists express the most powerful human emotions as they cry out to God in despair, grieve wickedness and evil, thirst for God like a deer panting for water, confess sin, and give jubilant praise to the creator – God Almighty.

There are five divisions or books:

  1. Book 1: Psalms 1 – 41
  2. Book 2: Psalms 42 – 72
  3. Book 3: Psalms 73 – 89
  4. Book 4: Psalms 90 – 106
  5. Book 5: Psalms 107 – 150

I encourage you to make reading the Psalms a daily habit for comfort and strength.

God bless you
