I started using essential oils for sleep support after not sleeping well on my first mission trip to a foreign country in 2014. I loved traveling to Guatemala, meeting new people, learning about the culture, and teaching the English language using the Bible and World English Institute material, but I was exhausted from lack of sleep. Perhaps it was the high elevation or my body was adjusting to a new environment.

Now, I sleep 7 – 9 hours each night with my wellness routine of nutrition, fitness, plenty of water, and essential oils.

History of Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used since the Bible days. The first mention of essential oils in the Bible is in Genesis 37 when Joseph was sold to Midianite traders who carried spices, balm, and myrrh. Jesus received frankincense and myrrh at his birth.
