Sharing is Caring

Do you struggle with procrastination?

Avoiding tasks you know you need to do:

  • Spiritual growth (prayer, Bible reading, faith, obedience to God)
  • Health and wellness
  • Fitness
  • Nutrition
  • Sleep (staying up late at night)
  • Work or career
  • Household chores
  • Goals
  • Family
  • Relationships

I learned to assess my emotions when I procrastinate and it is always due to a form of anxiety.

I used to ignore WHY I felt anxious when I procrastinated.

Now, I assess, acknowledge and use my natural tools like prayer, reading Scripture, reflecting on the work God has created me to do, aromatherapy, journaling, reviewing my long-term goals and just do the work.

Here are two tips that help me

1. Read one chapter of Proverbs in the Bible each day for wisdom and discipline.

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, King of Israel: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;

Proverbs 1:1 – 2

A simple way I implement this is to read the chapter on the day of the month.

Example:

  • November 1st  read chapter 1
  • November 2nd read chapter 2
  • Start over each month

2. Read or listen to the audiobookEat That Frog 21 Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy

I hope this helps and encourages you in achieving your goals.
