Studying the Bible requires:

  • Accepting God’s word as authority
  • Yielding to the Holy Spirit
  • Patience
  • An open heart and mind
  • Humility
  • Understanding to whom each section of the Bible was written and why
  • Rightly dividing the word of truth

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV

There are many tools available to help in studying the Holy Scriptures.

Some of the tools I use when studying are:

I received the Thompson Chain Reference Bible as a gift from the Monroe Street Church of Christ after my baptism in 1990. I still use it today in my personal Bible study and lesson preparation for women’s ministry.

It is my favorite study Bible because it has many study resources in one place.

+ Analyses of books

+ Character studies

+ Concordance

+ Memory verses

+ Topical studies

and so much more
