Sharing is Caring

Stink be gone

I switched from toxic deodorant, which was disrupting my hormones, to natural deodorant several years ago.

I had no idea how “smelly” this transition would be.

Since childhood, I had used toxic personal care products (soap, toothpaste, lotions, etc.). I always felt fatigued and lethargic no matter how much water I drank, exercised, slept, or ate nutritious food.

Until…

I started paying attention to what I was putting on and in my body.

I switched all toxic personal care, home cleaning, and home health products for natural, plant-based products.

Now, I have more energy.

I tried many natural deodorants.

The stink would not go away!

I was washing my armpits several times a day.

During this transition,

I discovered regular soap did not cleanse my armpit stink.

Only an antibacterial soap washed the stink away.

I also discovered there is a difference between deodorant and antiperspirant

Deodorant masks odor, while an antiperspirant reduces how much you sweat.

According to medicalnewstoday.com “ Many people experience smelly armpits from time to time. Sweat is responsible for smelly armpits. Sweating is a normal and necessary bodily function that stops people from overheating. When people sweat, the liquid mixes with the bacteria on the skin. When this dries, it can cause an unpleasant smell.”

My journey with natural deodorant

I made homemade deodorant with baking soda. My armpits did not like that at all. They were raw from the baking soda.

Then I switched to store-bought natural deodorants.

That did not work.

Then God blessed me to discover Young Living premium essential oils after not sleeping well on my first mission trip to Guatemala when I searched for natural sleep solutions.

As I began to learn more about how to use essential oils I started using oils with cleansing properties on my armpits.

It worked but I had to constantly reapply.

Until…

I started using En-R-Gee™ a few weeks ago.

The stink is gone!

Each person’s body is different

What works for me may not work for you. I tried many essential oils with cleansing properties that kept my armpits fresh temporarily, but I had to reapply several times throughout the day.

I don’t have to do that as often with En-R-Gee™.

En-R-Gee™ essential oil is a proprietary Young Living blend with a combination of Rosemary, Juniper, Lemongrass, Nutmeg, Idaho Grand Fir, Clove, and Black Pepper.

Not only am I reducing toxic chemicals in my body, but I am also supporting my lymphatic system when I use premium essential oils on my armpits.

How I use essential oils as deodorant

  • Pull the orifice off an empty essential oil bottle
  • Put several drops of En-R-Gee™ in the empty bottle
  • Fill with a carrier oil (almond, olive, or coconut, etc.)
  • Put an aromaglide roller fitment on the bottle
  • I rub a little raw shea butter on my armpits before rolling on the essential oil

Other ways to use En-R-Gee

  • Diffuse En-R-Gee during your morning routine to jump-start your day
  • Apply it topically before exercise
  • Diffuse it while focusing on work or studies
  • Diffuse it during long drives or late-night study sessions for an invigorating aroma that will help you push through
  • Diffuse En-R-Gee at work or home
  • Add a couple of drops to a carrier oil (olive, almond, coconut, etc.) and massage it into temples, bottoms of feet, or the back of the neck before a challenging activity for an exhilarating scent
