Sharing is Caring

October is National Women’s Small Business Month

More women are starting businesses today than ever before.

We are living in unprecedented times.

Job security does not exist.

Having multiple streams of income is critical to financial well-being.

Types of Business Models

There are many types of businesses models. A business model is a way a company plans to earn money.

  • Subscription (ex. video streaming, meal delivery)
  • Franchise (ex. restaurant, hotel)
  • Brick and mortar (ex. personal fitness studio, bakery)
  • Network marketing (ex. wellness, legal)
  • Home-based (ex. network marketing, selling your specialized service/expertise)

My Favorite Business Model: Home-based Network Marketing

Benefits of a network marketing business

  • Low start-up cost
  • No college degree required
  • Work from anywhere with a mobile device and internet
  • Work part-time 3 – 5 hours or 10 – 15 hours a week
  • Income potential based on your effort
  • No boss
  • Business tax deductions
  • Fun company events
  • Community of likeminded people
  • You are in business with people who are already successful, who have a vested interest in coaching, mentoring, and partnering with you to succeed. Modeling their examples, systems of training, and proven business strategies can provide you simple effective results.

Why Network Marketing is my Favorite

A network marketing business is about sincere relationships.

Network Marketing is basically a network of people who share products or services they love and use with other people. The company pays them for word-of-mouth marketing instead of spending their marketing budget on TV commercials and social media marketing.

It is basically referral – we refer all the time. If you eat at a restaurant you like, you tell a friend about it or about your new electronic device or app.

  • Opportunity to meet new people and share the saving message of Jesus
  • Opportunity to meet new people, learn about them, offer support and help them reach their dreams and goals
  • Opportunity to offer solutions with my product and income opportunity to people who share a need for my offering
  • Opportunity to educate people on holistic wellness and good stewardship of their bodies
  • You have a network of people helping to build your sales organization

My Business Story

It has been my desire to have my own business since I was a little girl. God blessed me to attend college and obtain a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

A college education is not necessary to start a business. Obtaining a business degree was my personal goal.

God blessed me to start my organizational business to supplement my mission income in 2017.

I started as a personal assistant, then transitioned to a virtual assistant as my clients had a need for administrative and technical support. I no longer work with clients one-on-one. Now I offer digital organizational products and plan to offer organizational video courses in the future.

The scope (work you do) in business and the amount of income you earn can change over time as your skillset grows.

I started another business educating women on how to use premium essential oils to support the systems of their bodies after starting my virtual assistant business.

I am a missionary and enjoy using my God-given gift of teaching to equip women. I started using essential oils in 2014 for natural sleep support after not sleeping well on my first mission trip to Guatemala. As I began to research essential oils to teach “Essential Oils of the Bible” classes I discovered the compensation plan of the essential oil company I partnered with to purchase my oils. Now I am focused on helping women start their own home-based wellness business while being a good steward of their bodies using premium essential oils.

Watch the video below to learn why I chose to make the switch from store-bought products to products made with essential oils.

I also started a creative business selling handmade crochet women’s accessories on Etsy after college while I worked a full-time job and served women’s ministry. Because of time constraints, I closed that business after a few months and reopened it in 2021 selling women’s Christian t-shirts.

Passive Income

Passive income, also known as residual income, is a way to automate the way you earn money.

It requires an investment of upfront time, money, or both.

You build/create it in the beginning and do not have to manage it daily. It requires minimal management.

You can earn money 24/7 while you sleep.

Examples: Rental investments, stocks, network marketing, affiliate marketing

My Etsy shop, Amazon Affiliates, and digital organizational products generate passive income. I invested time to create it and now it requires minimum effort for me to maintain while earning income.
